內容簡介: This is a collection of administrative dispatches from the 1910s through the early 1960s which illuminate not only rural life in Hong Kong but also Hong Kong government policies during the post-World War II period. The authors of the reports include such notable figures as Eric Hamilton, Walter Schofield, S. H. Peplow, Paul Tsui, Austin Coates, and James Hayes. The volume is another important addition to the Royal Asiatic Society Hong Kong Studies series, which has played a vital role in reviving and sustaining local history.

府：李登輝史觀否定臺灣主體性

前總統李登輝22號首度回應馬英九總統認為他媚日的言論，暗指馬總統說話「豪洨（說謊）」，總統府晚間嚴正駁斥。總統府發言人陳以信表示，李登輝的史觀媚日，嚴重否定臺灣主體性，背棄臺灣抗日先烈先賢反侵略、反殖民的理念，傷害國家主權與人民感情。（戎華儀報導）

馬英九總統日前以強烈言詞抨擊前總統李登輝的言論媚日，李登輝在22號公開回應中暗批馬總統說謊。

總統府發言人陳以信表示，李登輝的史觀，嚴重違背邱逢甲、吳湯興、羅福星、余清芳、蔣渭水、林獻堂、莫那魯道等抗日先賢先烈反侵略、反殖民的理念，也傷害中國民國主權和人民的感情，更違反國際社譴責日本發動侵略戰爭的共識，也違背臺灣主體性，相信國人和國際社會自有公評。

對於民進黨主席蔡英文呼籲大家包容李登輝的言論，陳以信認為，李登輝不是普通的臺籍日本兵，而是做過12年中華民國總統，蔡英文的說法是鄉愿偽善，要求蔡英文收回發言、與李登輝劃清界線，否則沒有資格參選總統。
